Wainwright Eye Care was established August 2012 with the goal of providing excellent eye care services to Manhattan and the surrounding areas. Our first office was located next to the East entrance of Walmart, a second location of Wainwright Eye Care opened in March 2019 in Grand Mere Village. The Grand Mere location offers a full service optical to meet any eye wear needs for anyone and we are accepting new patients! Our staff have many years of experience in optical and offer products unique to our area. For an eye exam, we recommend making an appointment to ensure we have time saved for you, however we are happy to accommodate walk-ins when our schedule allows.
Dr. Kyle Wainwright was born and raised near Manhattan, Kansas.
He received a Bachelors of Biology and Physical Science from Pittsburg State University with honors followed by University of Houston College of Optometry with honors in Beta Sigma Kappa in 2012. After completion of his education and training, he started Wainwright Eye Care in 2012 and has been providing exceptional eye care to the community ever since.
Dr. Wainwright's professional optometric memberships include the Kansas Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, and Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce.
In the community, Dr. Wainwright serves on the Riley County Alumni Association, coaches several youth recreation teams, and leads Cub Scouts.
Dr. Wainwright practices primary optometry care including diabetes, glaucoma, macular degeneration, contact lenses, glasses, pediatrics, and urgent care.
Dr. Nicole Trabuc, alongside her husband, Dr. Wainwright, also graduated from Pittsburg State University and University of Houston College of Optometry with honors in 2012. The couple completed retinal disease rotations in Oklahoma and New Mexico before settling in Manhattan, KS. She practiced in Wamego, KS for several years before joining Wainwright Eye Care in 2017.
Dr. Trabuc provides primary care optometry services and recently, Dr. Trabuc completed training at the NeuroVisual Institute in Michigan to provide binocular vision care.
Dr. Trabuc holds professional memberships in the Kansas Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, and NeuroVisual Institute. In the community, she is a member of PEO chapter JW. Dr. Trabuc and Wainwright reside outside of Manhattan with their three kids who keep them busy in youth sports and clubs.
Dr. Shelby Jueneman, originally from Hutchinson, KS, graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Life Science, while also obtaining minors in Biology and Leadership Studies. She then went on to graduate with honors from Indiana University School of Optometry in Bloomington, Indiana. While at Indiana University School of Optometry, Dr. Jueneman was inducted into Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society for her academic achievements and was awarded the Gold Key Leadership award. She completed her clinical rotations at Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers (Louisville, KY), Atwater Eye Care Center (Bloomington, IN), Nebraska Medicine Truhlsen Eye Institute (Omaha, NE), and Ralph H. Johnson VA (Charleston, SC) where she received additional training in several specialty clinics including ocular disease, dry eye management, specialty contact lenses, pediatrics, low vision rehabilitation and primary care. Her professional optometric memberships include the American Optometric Association and the Kansas Optometric Association. Dr. Jueneman lives in Manhattan with her husband, Trevor, their son Crew, and their golden retrievers, Thor and Stark. Outside the clinic, she enjoys cheering on her K-State Wildcats!
